Maximum vertical and horizontal figures are separate performance ratings. Actual performance depends on pipe diameter, lift, distance, bends and overall installation layout.
Bathrooms, Kitchens & Laundries
The Flow 550 Plus is not just a toilet pump.
It can receive normal domestic wastewater from compatible bathroom, kitchen and laundry fixtures, making it an excellent solution when you need to create plumbing somewhere that conventional gravity drainage would be difficult or expensive.
For kitchen installations, always use a suitable sink strainer and keep food waste, cooking fats, grease and oils out of the pump.
A macerator is not a food waste disposal unit.
Important Installation Points
Correct installation is essential for good macerator performance.
Greywater fixtures must drain naturally by gravity toward the pump. When connecting a shower to a side inlet, allow approximately 150mm between the shower waste outlet and finished floor level to achieve adequate gravity fall.
The supplied non-return valve must be installed at the pump discharge.
If the discharge needs to rise vertically, complete the vertical section first before commencing the horizontal run. Use sweeping bends or 2 x 45° bends rather than tight 90° elbows wherever practical.
The Flow 550 Plus requires approximately 205mm minimum clearance from the toilet outlet to the rear wall for installation.
We strongly recommend installation by a qualified plumber or appropriate trade professional.

Simple Preventative Maintenance
Macerator pumps require very little routine maintenance when they're installed correctly and used properly.
Every 3–4 months
Run a diluted Sugar Soap solution through a connected fixture, allow it a short time to help loosen soap and organic build-up, then flush the system thoroughly with clean warm water.
Never use boiling water.
Periodically check the flexible connections, clamps, non-return valve and discharge pipework for leaks or deterioration, and keep the carbon breather unobstructed.
Never Put These Through Your Macerator
Wet wipes — even those labelled “flushable” — sanitary products, nappies, paper towels, rags, cotton buds, food scraps, oils, fats, grease, excessive hair, foreign objects, strong acids, solvents or aggressive drain cleaners should never enter the pump.
Human waste, toilet paper and normal domestic wastewater only.

Every GreenLeaf Flow 550 Plus is backed by our 24-month return-to-base residential warranty.
The warranty covers manufacturing faults arising under normal residential use and correct installation. It does not cover blockages, foreign objects, wet wipes, sanitary products, food waste, oils or fats, unsuitable chemicals, incorrect installation, failure to correctly install the supplied non-return valve, external water/weather damage or commercial use.
